CONTEXT :
Customization generates more than 90% of our turnover.
When our customers have an idea in mind, we turn it into a turnkey product, ready to be marketed.
Our added value lies in the quality of the development of new products (soaps, cosmetics, detergents) and their manufacture, within short deadlines

Our 'cosmetics division' was born in 2015 when our sales director - now manager of the Savonnerie des Alpilles - founded Cosmetics & Co. At that time, we forged our know-how and our legitimacy before definitively confirming the test, in 2019, by the dimensioning, material and human, of the 'cosmetic pole'.

At present, 3 members of our team are fully dedicated to the formulation, manufacturing and packaging of cosmetic products. They operate in a 200m2 laboratory equipped to design any type of galenic (creams, milks, balms, oils...) and to package any type of format (jars, bottles, tubes, pumps).

Ophélie, our 'cosmetics' engineer for the past 4 years, will leave us to devote herself to a personal project. We therefore wish to provide for her replacement.
This change is the opportunity to install the version 3.0 of our cosmetic activity.
Our ambition is to standardize our processes towards more operational efficiency, and especially to increase our expertise in solid cosmetics, hot casting.

YOUR ROLE - YOUR MISSIONS :
You are our expert in cosmetics, and our business referent in 'R&D' (formulation).
You will report to Emilie, Manager of La Savonnerie des Alpilles & President of Cosmetics & Co, and join the management team alongside the other division managers.

In the Research & Development phase:
You develop the formulas based on the orientations of our cosmetic project managers who submit the 'product briefs' to you.

You will assist, if needed, our cosmetic project managers during briefings with our clients, and formulate your scientific and technical recommendations,

You evaluate the physicochemical performance of your formulations and produce samples that will be submitted to our BtoB customers for validation.

You direct our 'purchasing' department for the sourcing of raw materials and/or active ingredients essential to your trials,

You control the stability of your formulations, and ensure their compatibility with the packaging items envisaged. Note that other tests - such as Patch-Test, HET CAM, Challenge Test - are outsourced.

In the Industrialization & Manufacturing / Packaging phase:
You ensure the industrial transposition of your formulas for which you write the manufacturing operating protocol and the industrial cost price,

You check the availability of raw materials and packaging items in our stocks, and coordinate with the purchasing department if necessary,

You establish the scheduling and launching of the series to be produced,

You supervise the manufacturing and packaging operations, ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). You assist the other 2 team members when needed,

You guarantee the application of hygiene and safety standards and the quality of equipment within the laboratory,

You are responsible for the quality of the finished products that you validate before they are shipped to our customers,
You manage all documentation relating to operating modes, technical support, procedures and instructions, etc. These documents are, for the most part, dematerialized and compiled in our integrated management software package (ERP) called LSI

YOUR PROFILE:

You have a Bac+5 in chemistry with a specialization in cosmetology (design, processes and/or engineering).
You have a professional experience of 3 to 5 years in the formulation of care products, ideally acquired in an industrial environment.
You like and know how to work in 'project mode'. You are organized and methodical.
You have ambition and are inspiring to those around you.
You like and know how to be versatile in the nature and level of your interventions.
In other words, you can be a 'Doer' and a 'Thinker' in formulation, industrialization and/or cosmetic production.
The last but not the least...you are convinced that solid cosmetics is a major societal issue and wish to develop your know-how (also) in this direction.
